After breakfast, we set out from Cape Town on a full-day excursion to the legendary Cape of Good Hope, following one of the most scenic coastal routes in the world. Our journey takes us along sweeping bays and beneath towering cliffs as we trace the edge of the Cape Peninsula.
Our first stop is the harbor town of Hout Bay, where we board a boat to visit Seal Island. Here, hundreds of Cape fur seals laze on the rocks or plunge into the surf, while in the surrounding waters lurk the ocean’s apex predators — the great white sharks that sometimes patrol this coast.
Back on land, we continue south along the
breathtaking Chapman’s Peak Drive, a road carved dramatically into the

Our journey then continues westwards towards the coast, crossing the dramatic Gaub and Kuiseb passes. Along the way, we pause for photographs at iconic landmarks such as the Tropic of Capricorn, before winding through rugged canyons and wide-open vistas that showcase the

We also stop to marvel at the Welwitschia plant, an ancient survivor of the desert that can live for more than a

We depart the lodge at 07:00 and make our way to the mokoro station, where a uniquely African experience awaits. The day begins in the stillness of the early morning, as we gather at 05:30 for a cup of coffee before setting off on an exciting game drive in Chobe National Park.
