This morning we set out to explore Soweto, South Africa’s most famous township and a place rich in history and resilience. Our first stop is the Hector Pieterson Museum, dedicated to the memory of the 1976 student uprisings. Hector Pieterson, a young boy whose tragic death became a symbol of the struggle against apartheid, reminds us of the courage and sacrifices made during this pivotal time.
Afterwards, we pause for coffee in the historic Vilakazi Street — the only street in the world where two Nobel Peace Prize laureates once lived: Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
We then continue to Pretoria, the elegant administrative capital of South Africa, where a city tour introduces us to its rich blend of history and architecture. Highlights include the imposing Voortrekker Monument, the historic Church Square, and the impressive Union Buildings, seat of government.

This morning we cross the Abel Erasmus Pass, a scenic route that leads us into the breathtaking Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world. The dramatic landscapes here never fail to impress — sheer cliffs, lush greenery, and sweeping views stretching to the horizon.
We stop at the famous Three Rondavels viewpoint, where three towering peaks resemble traditional African huts, offering one of the canyon’s most iconic panoramas.

After breakfast we continue our journey, travelling inland via the relatively modern Outeniqua Pass. On the way, we stop at the viewpoint known as “4 Passes”, where — if the skies are clear — you can admire sweeping vistas over the mountain ranges and a large stretch of the coastline below.
As we descend into the interior, the scenery begins to change. The lush forests give way to dry plains, and soon the landscape is dotted with hundreds of ostriches, a sure sign that we have reached Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of South Africa.
Here we visit an ostrich farm, where you will learn more about these fascinating birds and their importance to the region’s history and economy.
In the afternoon we explore the awe-inspiring Cango Caves, one of the most beautiful cave systems in the world. Inside, you will encounter magnificent stalactites and stalagmites, some dramatically illuminated to highlight their otherworldly shapes. The largest chamber alone measures an astonishing 4,500 square meters with a height of 18 meters, creating a cathedral-like atmosphere.

Today we travel through the Little Karoo, following part of the famous Route 62 tourist route, often described as one of the most scenic drives in South Africa. A fun stop not to be missed is the quirky and world-famous Ronnie’s Sex Shop — a legendary roadside café with a surprising story and plenty of photo opportunities.

In the afternoon, we continue towards the coast and arrive in Hermanus, a picturesque seaside town that has become world-renowned for whale watching. From May to October, southern right whales can often be spotted close to the shore — a truly unforgettable sight for those visiting in season.
Later in the day, you may wish to take a scenic walk along the Cliff Path, which stretches for several kilometers along the rugged coastline. Our journey takes us inland to Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, founded by the Dutch East India Company (V.O.C.). From Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc to the uniquely South African Pinotage, you’ll get a taste of the country’s rich winemaking heritage. Naturally, we will stop at a local wine estate, where you can sample a few of these sunny flavours for yourself.
We continue to Franschhoek, a charming village set in a spectacular valley. Known as the culinary capital of South Africa, it has a distinctly French flair, thanks to the Huguenots (French Protestants) who settled here in the 17th century. Many of the vineyards still carry their French names — such as La Motte and Haute Cabrière.
In the late afternoon, we make our way to Cape Town, the grand finale of our journey. The approach is unforgettable: as we near the city, the sight of the iconic Table Mountain rising dramatically from the landscape is a breathtaking moment that stays with every traveller.

After breakfast, we set out from Cape Town on a full-day excursion to the legendary Cape of Good Hope, following one of the most scenic coastal routes in the world. Our journey takes us along sweeping bays and beneath towering cliffs as we trace the edge of the Cape Peninsula.
Our first stop is the harbour town of Hout Bay, where we board a boat to visit Seal Island. Here, hundreds of Cape fur seals laze on the rocks or plunge into the surf, while in the surrounding waters lurk the ocean’s apex predators — the great white sharks that sometimes patrol this coast.
Back on land, we continue south along the breathtaking Chapman’s Peak Drive, a road carved dramatically into the mountainside.
Every bend reveals another spectacular vista of ocean and cliffs, and in the right season, we may be lucky enough to spot whales or dolphins playing in the waters below.
Reaching the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, we explore one of South Africa’s most iconic landmarks. A walk to the lighthouse at Cape Point rewards us with panoramic views over the rugged coastline, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans seem to collide. Standing here, at the southwestern most tip of the African continent, is an unforgettable experience — a place where history, myth, and raw natural beauty meet.
We then travel to Simon’s Town, home to the famous colony of African penguins at Boulders Beach. Watching these endearing birds waddle across the snow-white sand or swim in the turquoise shallows is a true highlight, offering both charm and wonder in equal measure.
Our return journey takes us along the eastern side of the peninsula, passing through quaint villages and seaside towns before arriving back in Cape Town. The late afternoon is free to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the V&A Waterfront, with its restaurants, terraces, and lively harbour views.

Today a wonderful day off in Cape Town. What a lot this city has to offer! Take a walk through the old town and enjoy the cozy atmosphere and charming old buildings along the Green Market Square. Do you like shopping? The Waterfront is a Valhalla for shopaholics. There is also a wide range of good restaurants in this historic heart of the port. You can also hop on the signature 'hop on hop off' bus to see Cape Town's main attractions!
If you find it interesting to visit Robben Island, where Mandela and other freedom fighters were imprisoned for years, it is possible today - or possibly tomorrow - (optional excursion). A boat takes you from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the famous Prison Island. An impressive excursion, which is still accompanied by former prisoners.

Your last day in South Africa has arrived! Since your flight only departs in the evening, you still have plenty of time to enjoy wonderful Cape Town one last time.
How you spend your morning and afternoon is entirely up to you:
• Take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for breathtaking views over the city, the ocean, and even Robben Island in the distance.
• Stroll through the lively V&A Waterfront, perfect for last-minute souvenir shopping, a relaxed lunch by the harbour, or simply soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.
• Or perhaps take a final wander through the city, capturing those last photos of colourful streets, mountain backdrops, and Cape Town’s unique blend of cultures.
In the afternoon you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your return flight home.
