DAY 1: DEPARTURE SCHIPOL – DAR ES SALAAM 

Depart Amsterdam Schipol International Airport at 10:35 on flight KL567 to Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar Es Salaam.  You will be transferred to your overnight transfer hotel.

DAY 2:  BLANTYRE – ZOMBA PLATEAU 90 Km

You will be transferred to the airport for you flight to Blantyre departing at 07:00.  Arrive in Blantyre at 09:20. After a short city tour we will drive to Zomba where we check into the hotel.  Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the scenery and the amenities the hotel has to offer.

Overnight:  Ku Chawe Inn / Mount Soche (Blantyre) 

DAY 3:  ZOMBA PLATEAU – LIWONDE NATIONAL PARK100 Km

We will depart at 10:00 and travel to Zomba where we will do a short city tour before we continue to Liwonde National Park.  

The rest of the day will be at leisure to enjoy the facilities the hotel has to offer.  In the afternoon we wil do a game drive.

Overnight:  Mvuu Lodge / Mvuu Camp 

DAY 4: LIWONDE NATIONAL PARK 

We will start with early morning coffee before we depart on a Game Drive, followed by breakfast.  The rest of the day will be at leisure to enjoy the facilities the hotel has to offer.  In the afternoon we will do another Game Drive.

Overnight:  Mvuu Lodge / Mvuu Camp    

DAY 5:  LIWONDE NATIONAL PARK – CAPE MACLEAR 135 Km

We will do an early morning game drive followed by breakfast.  We will depart and travel to Mangochi  along the Shire river.  En route we will pass Lake Malombe. We will follow the shoreline of Lake Malawi with a comfort stop at Nkopola before proceeding to Monkey Bay. We will continue to Cape Maclear where we will have lunch before transferring to Domwe Island by boat.

Overnight:  Kayak Africa (Mumbo Island) / Eagles Nest 

DAY 6:  CAPE MACLEAR (LAKE MALAWI NATIONAL PARK) 

Day at leisure to relax.  You can kayak, do some snorkelling in the crystal clear water of Lake Malawi to view the colourful chiclid fishes.  Malawi National Park was the first fresh water National Park and has been a Natural Heritage site since 1984.

Overnight:  Kayak Africa (Mumbo Island) / Eagles Nest     

DAY 7:  CAPE MACLEAR – SENGA BAY  200 Km

We will be collected after breakfast for our boat trip back to the mainland.  We will travel via Monkey Bay to Salima and then onto Senga Bay.  Afternoon at leisure to climb to the top of a hill from where you will get a commanding view over Lake Malawi.

Overnight:  Safari Beach Lodge / Sunbird Livingstonia Hotel / Kambiri Lodge    

DAY 8:  SENGA BAY – CHINTHECHE288 Km

We will depart at 08:00 and travel along Lake Malawi.  En route we will pass sugarcane fields and rubber tree plantations (two of the major export products of Malawi).  After checking into the hotel we will have the opportunity to interact with the local people at one of the local markets.

Overnight:  Chintheche Inn / Makuzi Lodge    

DAY 9: CHINTHECHE – NYIKA NATIONAL PARK 260 Km

We will depart at 08:00 and travel to Nkatha Bay for a comfort stop.  We will travel to Mzuzu for lunch.  We will continue to Nyika National Park. En route we will visit one of the traditional markets.  Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the scenery while taking a walk.

DAY 10:  NYIKA NATIONAL PARK 60 Km 

After breakfast we will take a drive through the Nyika National Park.  Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the environment by taking a walk.

Overnight:  Chelinda Lodge / Chelinda Camp    

DAY 11:  NYIKA NATIONAL PARK – KARONGA 285 Km

We will depart at 08:00 and travel to Rhumpi for a comfort stop.  We will descend down to the lake shoreline making various photo stops.  We will follow the shoreline towards Karonga.

Overnight:  Golden Sand Beach Lodge / Kilombero Beach Resort / Club Marina       

DAY 12:  KARONGA – IRINGA463 Km

We will depart at 08:00 and travel to the Kyela border post.  We will follow a very scenic mountainous route to Mbeya where we will make a lunch stop.  We will continue to Iringa for our overnight stop.

Overnight:  Iringa Sunset Hotel / M.R. Hotels / ZakInn Gangilonga Hotel.

DAY 13:  IRINGA – DAR ES SALAAM  520 Km

We will have an early morning departure for our long drive to Dar Es Salaam. We will descend into the Ruaha Valley where we will follow a scenic route along the Ruaha River.  En route we will travel through the Makumi National Park.

DAY 14: DAR ES SALAAM - ZANZIBAR60 Km

We will do a city tour of Dar Es Salaam before going to the airport for our flight to Zanzibar.  Afternoon at leisure to explore Stone Town.

DAY 15: ZANZIBAR 

Zanzibar is a melting pot of different cultures with a very strong Arabic influence.  In the morning we will do a Spice Tour which will introduce us to the different spices that are cultivated on the island.  We will visit the Christ Church owned by the Anglican Church in Tanzania. We will also visit the site of the old Slave Market.  Afternoon at leisure to explore the sights and sounds of Stone Town.  Pay a visit to the birth place of Freddy Mercury (Queen) and the Forodhani Food Market.  Day at leisure to explore the surrounding area or to relax on the beach or next to the pool.

DAY 16 ZANZIBAR

DAY 17:  DAR ES SALAAM  - ZANZIBAR – MARANGU 546 Km

We will depart at 06:00 and travel to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport for our flight to Dar Es Salaam. Today is quite a long drive to our overnight stop in Moshi situated at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa at 5895m.

DAY 18:  MARANGU TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK234 Km

We will travel to Kia Lodge where we will make a comfort stop.  We will be able to leave our luggage in safe keeping while taking a smaller bag with enough clothing for 7 days. We will continue to Arusha for lunch.  After lunch we will continue to Tarangire National Park where we will check in.

Overnight:  Tarangire Safari Lodge / Tarangire Sopa Lodge    

DAY 19:  TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK 100 Km

We will make a morning and afternoon game drive.  Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the scenery and the amenities the hotel has to offer.

Overnight:  Tarangire Safari Lodge / Tarangire Sopa Lodge       

DAY 20:  TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO220 Km

We will depart at 08:00 and travel to Lake Manyara National Park.  Lake Manyara National Park was established as a National Park in 1960 and is a narrow strip between the Gregory Rift wall and Lake Manyara, an alkaline lake, frequented by 350 different bird species which includes waterbirds like Flamingoes, Pelicans, Kingfishers etc.   We will continue to Ngorongoro. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the amenities the hotel has to offer as well as the amazing view over the Ngorongoro Crater.The hotel is situated close to the rim of the Crater.

DAY 21: NGORONGORO 100 Km

We will travel down into the Ngorongoro crater. The crater covers an area of 8292sq.Km and is surrounded by steep cliffs forming an amphitheatre. There are more than 30 000 animal which includes mainly Zebras and Wildebeest.  Ngorongoro also has the highest concentration of predators.
