PRETORIA CITY TOUR  
A tour through the administrative capital of South Africa will include the following sites:
  • The Union Buildings constructed out of sandstone are the headquarters of government and home to the presidential offices. The Union Building overlooks the city centre and it’s beautifully maintained terraced gardens.
  • The majestic Voortrekker Monument that was completed in 1949 to commemorate the pioneering Voortrekkers that explored the interior of the country during the Great Trek.
  • President Paul Kruger House - this was formerly the residence of President Paul Kruger and has been preserved as a museum with some very interesting memorabilia.
  • Church Square in the heart of Pretoria with its numerous statues, surrounded by an array of beautiful historical sandstone buildings.
  • Melrose house – formerly home to the British Commanders, Lord Roberts and Kitchener. This is also where the Treaty of Vereeniging was signed that brought an end to the Anglo Boer War.  It has an interesting blend of English Victorian and Cape Dutch styles.  

 

 

 CRADLE OF HUMANKIND WORLD HERITAGE SITE:
The Cradle of Humankind is a 47000 hectare World heritage Site and well known for the discovery of many ancient fossils. A visit to the Sterkfontein Caves and the award-winning Visitor Interpretation Centre at Maropeng will give you a good insight into the life on earth millions of years ago.
 JOHANNESBURG AND SOWETO

Johannesburg has been the "financial capital" of South Africa for many years.  This city is a melting pot of different cultures and offers various markets.

A tour through Soweto will include the following sites:

  • Mandela Museum, - former residence of Pres. Nelson Mandela before his imprisonment.
  • Hector Peterson Museum that was built to commemorate the struggle of the Black community during the apartheid years.
  • A view of the house of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela
  • A visit to an informal settlement where the principle of Ubuntu (working together), in order to fight poverty, can be observed
  LESEDI CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

Lesedi is a cultural experience of old and new Africa and give insight into the culture of some of the tribes in South Africa .  It was co-founded by the African explorer Kingsley Holgate.  A Pan-African buffet in the Nyama Choma Restaurant – “The Greatest African Feast !” is a highlight of this experience.

SUN CITY, PALACE OF THE LOST CITY, PILANSBERG NATIONAL PARK
